Joe is from Corning, NY known for producing a wealth of musical talent.
He has been playing professionally for 35 years. He played his first paying gig at age 13 and never looked back.
During his time in the U.S. Navy, while in the Persian Gulf, Joe organized a ship’s band called Gonzo Trooper while stationed aboard the Aircraft Carrier, USS Kitty Hawk. He played many gigs aboard Naval ships at sea as well as many ports throughout the Western Hemisphere. After his service to our country, he returned to NY where he played with the five-piece rock band Midnight Star throughout NY and PA.
After moving to Atlanta in 1984, Joe joined up with the 6 piece Rock show band Break The Silence which was a staple in the larger clubs and venues in the Southeast in the mid-’80s to early ’90s.
After Break The Silence, Joe began a solo career. For the next six years, he played in clubs and restaurants around Atlanta.
In 1998, seeing a need and always being an innovator, Joe started a rock-roll duo and named it Spider Kelly. Spider Kelly consisted of a drummer playing electric drums, Joe on guitar, and used midi sequencing and computer control over a vast array of lighting creating a truly one-of-a-kind act. Spider Kelly went on to play hundreds of gigs throughout Georgia and Florida over a period of 13 years.
Joe became a member of R&B, Inc. in early 2007. Joe’s hard rock style energizes R&B, Inc. with his guitar playing and vocal ability. His knowledge of the music business and his vast experience with sound and lighting have been a valuable asset to the band.
Joe has opened up concerts for many bands in his career such as Duke Jupiter, Steppenwolf, Drivin & Crying, Atlanta Rhythm Section, The Family Stone, The Association, and many others.
